Martin Super
My name is Martin Super and I have been a collector from a very young age. I started collecting with a beat-up helmet and expanded from there. My areas of expertise are the World War Two German Police and World War Two Croatia. I collect items mostly from those two areas but also find other items from time to time. In the past few years I have purchased estates from PT Boat and Airborne Veterans. I have decided to expand those collections and find relevant items. I also especially enjoy parade medal bars as they are one of the few items that will tell the story of someone's war service. I have been an OVMS member for several years now and have joined some national insignia collecting groups.
I have met a lot of fantastic people through the militaria hobby including veterans, dealers and other collectors. I find that we all can learn something from one another and that is what makes this hobby great. As a "younger" collector I am always looking to help the new guy or assist someone starting out for the first time. I have been to many military shows and I have seen a lot of good and bad ideas. I hope to use the good ideas and avoid the bad ones to host a militaria show that everyone can enjoy. I have considered myself very fortunate to know many World War Two veterans. I feel regret for the future generations who will not have the ability to sit down and speak directly with "the greatest generation". Please make some time and visit World War Two Vets! You will find that most are more than willing to share their stories and the things you learn will surpass any textbook!
